Goals and teaching strategies are customized to fit each child’s uniques strengths and needs. We use a variety of evidence based support options such as a the verbal behavior approach, acceptance and commitment therapy, pivotal response training, and other developmental relationship based approaches. Our services include options such as 1:1 support services and teaching, parent coaching, and school consultations.
The first step of our services is having the child and their team develop a strong and caring relationship. It's important that each child and family feels that their needs and preferences are important and that they can trust us and our services.
Children learn best when they are having fun! We teach through play and also set our older students up for success in school and the community by making activities such as following routines and functional self-help activities fun.
We are specialists in learning about what the student really enjoys and values and we make those things a key part of their therapy. It's key that all our students are motivated and have fun learning with us.
We prioritize goals and strategies that fit the child's unique development. We go at a pace that works for them and break skills into small steps that prioritize their strengths and passions.
Our strategies are very effective for teaching communication, life skills, executive functioning skills, early academics, and social emotional skills.
We acknowledge that in the past the fields of education and psychology have excluded important perspectives and voices. We as a team are committed to continue to listen to our families and learn to meet the needs of our families in a way that is ethical, positive, and compassionate.
