EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM INFORMATION
The ABC Process for your child’s VB Early Intervention Program or Parent Led VB Program
Months 1 & 2 15-25 hrs
Get to know us for FREE:
We provide a 1 hour complimentary consultation with Michele , Elisa , Kathleen or Atasha and your family in your home.
Say YES to ABC and decide on either Early Intervention Team Program or Parent Led Program.
First -- SERVICE AGREEMENT: We come into your home OR meet online to review the service contract, and other important forms with you.
Next -- ASSESSMENT: The BCBA or BCaBA will complete an assessment (ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP or functional assessment)
Then -- PROGRAM CREATION AND BEHAVIOR PLAN WRITING: The BCBA or BCaBA will write a personal program and behaviour plan report. These are written based on assessments.
Month 2 12-20 hrs
PARENT TRAINING: For TEAM BASED PROGRAM: Michele, Elisa, Kathleen, Atasha and/or a Senior Behavior Interventionist (BI) will conduct 1 or more training sessions for the parents to teach them about the behavioral approach and important aspects of the program.
PARENT LED PROGRAM: Michele and a Sr. BI or Elisa and a Sr. BI; Kathleen or Atasha will train the parents over several sessions (2-3 hours each) to work with their child using the Verbal Behavior protocol.
BI TRAINING: Michele, Elisa , Kathleen, Atasha or Sr. BI's conducts the training for the “team” of Behavior Interventionists on how to implement the child's specific Verbal Behavior Program.
OVERLAPS: The Sr. BI overlaps the BI's to ensure that the programs are being completed to the highest of standards and that all data collected is accurate.
Starting in Month 3 & every month during the program
BI SESSIONS: Behavior Interventionists begin to see the client for therapy sessions on a daily or weekly bases (determined by the parents). Program implementation and data collection occur within each therapy session.
TEAM MEETINGS: Michele, Elisa, Kathleen Or Atasha meets with the team on a monthly basis OR every 2nd month if so determined by the progress of the team and the child) to review progress, teach new programs, and discuss any problems that may have occurred.
Ongoing until otherwise requested by the parents
RE-ASSESSMENT: Your child is re-assessed every 12 months and necessary changes are made to the child’s program.
